We have an immediate need for a full-time Shift Supervisor working Afternoon Shift (3:30 pm to 12:00 am) at 421 Manitou Drive, Kitchener to join our team in Kitchener.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Production – Responsible for the afternoon shift operations of the Production team for Machine, Assembly and Trim production schedules as well as capacity requirements needed to meet production deadlines. Oversees team leads to maximize efficiencies and utilization of resources.

· Quality – Knows and maintains company quality standards, communicates standards to team leads and ensures standards are adhered to. Establishes processes to provide solutions to address and resolve root cause issues.

· Leadership – Coaches, motivates and develops staff through open communication to ensure job satisfaction, performance and promote teamwork. Ensures consistency in processes, policy application as well as manages conflicts, addresses performance concerns as well as safety violations issuing discipline as required.

· Safety –Promotes and maintains a safe working environment for staff at all times, through adherence to the O.H.S.A. and company safety policies.

· Continuous Improvement – Generates and implements ideas/suggestions to develop/improve methods/efficiency/equipment, alternate routings, cost reductions, etc.

· Administrative - Completes required paperwork/input to computer including vacation approval, time and attendance authorizations, production reports, etc.

· Team Work - Works collaboratively interdepartmentally within all areas of the business.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Post-secondary diploma or equivalent.

· Minimum 5 – 10 years previous supervisory experience in a furniture manufacturing environment with demonstrated leadership capabilities.

· Sound technical, hands-on process knowledge in machine, assembly, trim and quality in the furniture manufacturer industry.

Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop employees.

· Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively.

· Must be driven and have the ability to respond to various and unplanned situations with a high level sense of urgency while maintaining a calm demeanour.

· Broad approach to problem solving and recognize the impact of decisions being made.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
