The Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, is responsible for managing the planning and coordination of the ministry’s annual budget activities; proactive development of reporting and analysis of financial results; managing development and maintenance of a framework for setting, measuring, analyzing and reporting on financial performance; integrating the reporting of financial and operational results and assessing and making recommendations on the financial implications of new initiatives.
The principal responsibility of the position is to provide effective high-level budget management, revenue planning and financial forecasting and analysis for the ministry. The expenditure budget and revenue plans are developed in accordance with the fiscal framework determined by Treasury Board and must comply with government accounting policy and financial legislation.
Job Requirements:
- University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business, Economics, Public Administration) and related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- A professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
- Experience in financial management in a public sector environment.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the leadership and supervision of staff.
- Experience providing virtual supervision.
Related experience must include:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial management.
- Experience in preparing high level briefings, documents and presentations for decision by senior leadership.
- Experience in the leadership and supervision of staff.
