OVERVIEW
Commissionaires Great Lakes offers an immediate opportunity for a versatile, highly motivated Security Professional. We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills, strong working knowledge of computer systems, CCTV experience, a positive attitude and the ability to provide excellent customer service, security and protection for our client's site. As a front-line representative of our company and client’s site you must be highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision, have the ability to multitask and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- While duties vary by assignment, the responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:
- Protecting people, property, and information
- Conducting on-foot perimeter and search patrols (indoors and outdoors)
- Monitoring and responding to alarm and security systems
- Ensuring the health and safety of self and others in the workplace
- Adhering to CGL's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, systems, and practices (and those of the clients we serve)
- Respecting CGL employment and workplace policies, site work Instructions, and site supervisor's direction
- Other functions may include patrolling, reception/administration, reporting, emergency management and access control.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Be a Permanent Resident of Canada or a Canadian Citizen;
- No criminal record (or no criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted);
- Be able to provide fingerprints and complete a criminal record check;
- Be eligible to apply for Government of Canada personnel security screening; and
- Be able to communicate effectively in English (bilingual would be considered an asset).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a secondary school diploma
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
- The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
- Effective customer services/reception/administrative skills
- Good understanding of computers
Rate of Pay: $16 - $22 per hour. The scale of compensation is variable and reflective of site contracts. Please note some of our sites are unionized work environments.
Working Hours: Full time night shift - 23:00-0:700.
