A Toronto-based communications company is seeking a Mid-Level .Net C# Web Developer for a full-time position starting immediately. Contract options are available upon inquiry. You should have 2-6 years of experience in .Net web development and a passion for web standards. You have a deep understanding of web development best practices and are driven to deliver high-quality, performant, and maintainable web applications.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with project teams to conceptualize, develop, and execute engaging and usable interactive experiences.
- Develop standards-compliant and usable websites and contribute to site documentation. Perform ongoing site maintenance and updates.
- Participate in project processes, contribute to project completion, and be accountable to deadlines.
- Exercise best practices, current trends, and come up with creative solutions to development problems or obstacles.
- 2-6 years of experience in .Net web development using C#.
- Expertise in .Net MVC and component-based development.
- Strong knowledge of Svelte.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery to build responsive, cross-browser compatible web pages.
- Strong knowledge of C# .NET, ASP.NET, and Entity Framework to build scalable, maintainable, and performant web applications.
- Strong understanding of database design and implementation using SQL Server, MySQL, or other relational databases.
- Strong knowledge of web application security best practices, such as input validation, output encoding, and secure authentication and authorization.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies, such as unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing, to ensure code quality and minimize the risk of errors.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, to collaborate effectively with team members and deliver high-quality code.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment process, and ensure faster time to market.
- Knowledge of responsive web design to build websites that work well on different devices and screen sizes.
- Knowledge of web accessibility best practices and standards, such as WCAG 2.0 & 2.1, to ensure websites are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques, such as minification, bundling, and caching, to improve website performance and user experience.
- Strong documentation skills to ensure code is well-documented, maintainable, and easily understood by other developers.
- Continuous desire to learn and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to improve skills and build better web applications.
- Good organizational skills: Mid-Level .Net C# Web Developers should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Nice-to-haves:
- Familiarity with various industry-standard graphic and design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, Zeplin, Figma, Principle, and diagramming/wireframing tools.
- Experience with other front-end frameworks like React, Angular, Vue.js, or Backbone.js.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as NUnit, MSTest, or xUnit.
- Knowledge of SQL Server or other relational databases.
