We are hiring for a permanent full time Logistics Coordinator - Day Shift reporting to the Operations Supervisor. We are located in Waterloo, Ontario with operations across Ontario. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will support all functions with a focus on data analysis, route planning and operational efficiency. You will also contribute to the communication with drivers, route planning. data entry, maintenance, security and safety, and other transportation related functions to create direct contributions to the division and to customers’ experiences. A successful candidate will have effectively demonstrated an ability to continuously build better processes, manage daily operations, and instill a culture of innovation.
Position Responsibilities:
· This position requires driving & occasional delivery duties. Previous dispatch experience & ability to drive standard are assets.
· Create, generate, and maintain supply chain metrics to include monthly reports for performance, freight and duty expenditures, carrier usage, etc.
· Daily Inbound & Outbound logistics planning, routing, analysis & reporting.
· Daily reporting functions, and communication.
· Maintain and update TMS
· Track & Trace
· Support the Operations Supervisor in implementing training platforms, project planning and developing clear objectives for Logistics team members.
· Troubleshoot daily service failures, support the driver leads by recommending and implementing corrective action measures.
· Provide administrative support to the Operations Supervisor, assisting in business case analysis, capacity planning and integration.
· Collecting driver bags from drivers
· Scheduling maintenance
· Participating in and supporting driver retention initiatives
· Maintaining fair and equitable distribution of work
· Communicating dispatch information as required
· Monitoring driver performance/miles and reefer requirements
· Monitoring and responding to driver
· Assisting with solutions regarding any driver concerns
· Assisting with driver inquiries - payroll, hours etc.
· Updating customer portal relative to the orders
· Communicating and problem solving with customers as required
· Data Entry
· Responsible for Simplify customer dashboard
· Filing
· Answer customer emails
· Vehicle audits, when required.
· Arrange/maintenance scheduling of vehicles
· Ability to assist with loading of trucks, as required
· Prepare reports for management involving the evaluation and tracking of administrative services such as but not limited to such things as quality assurance, Driver knowledge, customer service, production, tire repair, housekeeping and punctuality
· Receive and dispatch orders and updates to ensure deliveries are flowing smoothly
· Performs other duties as required
Requirements:
· Minimum of 2 years dispatch or logistics coordinator experience in Canada
· Interest in learning, asking questions & improving skill sets
· High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
· Completion of CIFFA education or industry equivalent training is strongly encouraged
· Strong verbal and written skills to communicate with co-workers, vendors and clients located throughout North America and worldwide
· Basic mathematical skills
· Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills
· Diligent attention to detail
· Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
· Able to work effectively under pressure & work well with others
