The opportunity:
The University of Manitoba is looking for a Undergraduate Programs Advisor. This position is responsible for providing advice and assistance to students regarding admission and registration to different Undergraduate programs in the Riddell Faculty. The Undergraduate Programs Advisor will also recommend or deny admissions as well as review and apply transfer credits.
The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:
- University degree in a related discipline is required.
- Three (3) years of directly related experience required.
- Student recruitment experience is required.
- Advisory and mentorship experience is essential.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficient use of PC or Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office 365 is required
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal as well as public speaking skills required.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills required.
- Through knowledge of the Registrar’s Office student records database is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to plan ahead and be well organized.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stress required.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations in an empathetic manner is essential.
- A good knowledge of undergraduate programs offered by the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth, and Resources.
- Knowledge of University of Manitoba policies, procedures, and academic regulations preferred.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
