We are currently recruiting for a Sr. Legal Administrative Assistant specializing in Personal Injury matters for our client, a boutique firm located in Vancouver. The successful candidate will be experienced, detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, reliable, and able to work as a team player in a professional environment!
Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain client files, with an emphasis on the electronic files
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents
- Coordinate dates for Examinations for Discovery, Hearings and Trials
- Manage the lawyer’s calendar
- Schedule appointments for independent medical examinations
- Coordinate clients’ attendance at independent medical examinations
- Assist with preparation for Examinations for Discovery, Hearings, Trials, and independent medical examinations
- Assist with document production and exchange
- Maintain an effective bring-forward system
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail for the team
- Ensure adherence to the firm’s policy and procedures manual
- Ensure the work area is tidy and clean at all times
- Other administrative duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications
- Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate or Diploma or equivalent work experience
- 5 -7 years of plaintiff personal injury experience
- Good working knowledge of the BC Supreme Court Civil Rules as they apply to plaintiff personal injury cases
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service focus
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Impeccable telephone etiquette
- Software knowledge including MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Internet, and Case Management Software
- Superior organizational/document management skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage work responsibilities in an unstructured environment
- Ability to prioritize job tasks and execute deliverables on time
- Independent with the ability to confidently make judgment calls and recommendations
- Sound business judgment, including the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
- Professional temperament, including the ability to remain calm under challenging circumstances
