AREA19 Medical Inc. is startup medical AI company working in cardiovascular imaging for diagnosis and prognostication of cardiovascular disease. The company is founded by veteran medtech entrepreneurs, and this position is for the venerable employee #1. We are looking for a highly motived, highly skilled software developer that will create the first release of our prototype software.

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Founders, you will elevate the product portfolio and build on the vision to elaborate a web-based cardiac MRI post-processing software to analyze cardiac images. You will lead or participate in a selection of the following responsibilities:

• Analysis/Design – Design, build and evolve progressive web app using modern user interfaces, APIs, microservice architectures and novel technologies.

• Programming – Develop apps and programs using modern frameworks based on documented user needs and design specifications

• Data Modelling – Design database, data exchange and data synchronization schemes

• Prototype – Build rapid prototyping apps to demonstrate proof of concept

• Optimization – Improve architectures, algorithms, and implementations for speed and efficiency

• UI/UX – Deliver outstanding user experiences

• Security – Ensure mobile and web apps are properly secured according to highest standards

• Support – Assess customer-related technical issues and find root causes of errors

• Testing – Build plans for automated/manual tests to ensure complete software Quality Assurance

• Maintenance – Ensure existing apps are updated with newer component/software updates

• Regulatory – Follow the respective guidelines pertaining to medical software standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, it engineering or equivalent

• 2-5 years working experience in a similar position

• Agile, analytical and attention to detail

• OO design and programming

• Strong knowledge of web app development

• Experience with a variety of development languages and environments

• Experience within digital health products, medical devices or health care products an asset

• Knowledge of medical product cybersecurity an asset

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
