At SMS Equipment, our Service Assistants - Mining Field provide administrative support services as they relate to parts and service work orders within well established and clearly defined policies and procedures. Our Service Assistants are proactive, analytical and enjoy being productive. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their experience, positivity and customer service to our growing team in Fort McMurray, AB.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Employee Training. Coordinate with Supervisor to book appropriate safety courses for new and current hourly employees. Assist the training group with room booking as required for in-branch instructor led training. Maintain accurate tracking of safety certifications.
• Data Entry. Accurately input information from service reports into the Event Log. Scan service reports to appropriate customer file. Update and maintain Job Trackers.
• Work Order Coordination. Review work order requests ensuring PO and sublet information is included. Complete and maintain work orders by collected appropriate documentation. Communicating completion status with stakeholders.
• Other. Assist with camp/housing requests if required. Print electronic timecards, appropriately sort and present to supervisor for review/approval.

Qualifications:

Our Service Assistants have a High School diploma and an Office Administration Certificate with 1-2 years’ experience in an administrative environment. Additional qualifications include:

• Proven experience in Microsoft Office programs to access and update records.
• High attention to detail
• Excellent communication with all levels of the business
• Ability to deliver results in a timely manner
• Ability to effectively problem solve when a situation arises
• Experience in payroll would be preferred
