The primary location of this role is in Windsor, Ontario. You will have an opportunity to share your preferred working location with your recruiter. Relocation assistance to Windsor, Ontario may be available. To qualify for this position, you are required to have valid Canadian work authorization.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of programming or related experience in one or more of the following: .NET, or JavaScript/Typescript
- 5 years of experience in software testing and design
- 5 years of database-related experience
- 5 years of experience working in a team environment
- Hands-on experience with Angular
- Experience leading small project teams
- Experience mentoring others
- Undergraduate degree in computer science or equivalent relevant experience
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong TypeScript skills
- Strong Node.js skills
- Experience with RESTful API design and development
- Experience with Angular
- Familiarity with Git
- Familiarity with Docker
- Familiarity with Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of standard AWS technologies, such as Lambda, SQS and CloudWatch
- Ability to practice disciplined software development (automated testing, code reviews and writing readable code)
- Strong communication skills when talking about technical concepts
Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and driven Senior Software Developer to join our growing Technology team. In this role, you'll mentor Associate Software Developers, lead small development teams and act as an application owner. In addition to developing, you'll improve and maintain innovation software applications as part of a team and independently. This is an opportunity to take a lead role in design and code reviews, assist with delivery estimates and provide feedback about all aspects of the process – all while working with various team members across the entire organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop progressive web apps using Angular and Node.js through the full software development life cycle processes
- Build highly scalable, reusable and resilient APIs for web-based applications
- Write RESTful services using TypeScript, Node.js and a multitude of AWS services, like Lambda
- Collaborate with other developers, architects, quality developers and product managers in solving new and existing technical issues
- Understand requirements, implement designs, provide administration tools and create documentation for specific projects
- Unit-test all developed code
- Participate in team stand-up meetings, where you'll give and receive updates on the current backlog and challenges
- Participate in code reviews
- Follow and enhance existing development processes
- Maintain ownership of the projects assigned
- Consistently meet project deadlines
- Mentor other Software Developers to grow their technical skills
