Senior Estimator Job at A.L Blair Construction Ltd.
A.L Blair Construction Ltd has been completing mid to large scale heavy civil construction projects in Ottawa and surrounding areas for over 50 years. Year after year the company has taken on more and more projects. We are currently recruiting a full-time Senior Estimator to help us further excel and succeed on future jobs.
As Estimator , candidates will be responsible for the following;
-Preparing bids for future projects.
-Preparing and managing project schedules.
-Communicate/collaborate well with all project stakeholders.
-Prepare change orders as required.
-Using experience and knowledge be able to foresee any project issues/constraints by observing tender documents/drawings.
-Motivate employees to help achieve company goals and targets.
-Remain up-to-date and organized with project schedules, deadlines, closing dates and addendums.
-Monitoring bidding websites daily for any potential projects of interest.
-Perform quantity takeoffs on jobs using software.
-Gathering quotes from various subcontractors and suppliers and implementing them into bids.
-Inspecting and reading through tenders with great attention to detail.
-Attending site meetings as required.
-Provide great leadership and organization skills to the project team.
-Reporting any concerns with various projects to management.
-Communicate effectively with management and employees to ensure jobs are completed efficiently.
-Other various administrative and managerial duties
***A degree/diploma in civil engineering and/or relevant work experience is required***
