ESS Direct, Powered by Vertical Staffing Resources, has partnered with a prestigious Law Firm in Barrie, ON, and we are recruiting for a full time Senior Corporate Commercial Law Clerk for their location. This is a Contract position that may go Permanent for the successful candidate.

Location: Barrie, ON

Responsibilities for Senior Corporate Commercial Law Clerk:

The successful candidate will have some expertise in all phases of the business life cycle:

Experience reviewing, updating, and maintaining minute books for federal and provincial corporations

Maintaining corporate databases

Preparing documents for incorporation, amendments, amalgamations, tax-based rollovers, family trusts, shareholder agreements, extra-provincial registrations, business name registrations, partnership registrations, as well as extracting and filing notices online

Working with non-profit corporations and charitable entities on formation, compliance, and dissolution is an asset.

Transactional experience that includes, commercial real estate and asset and share purchase/sale transactions

Requirements for Senior Corporate Commercial Law Clerk:

Legal Assistant/Law Clerk diploma with direct recent experience preferably of 5 - 7 years or equivalent.

Highly organized with ability to adapt to changing situations, prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail and ability to think critically to solve problems.

Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

Effective interpersonal and client service skills, with strong initiative and ability to work independently to meet timelines and in a team structure.

Intermediate technical skills with MS Office (WORD, EXCEL, Outlook), Fastcompany, PC Law, Knowledge of Teraview and Unity

Team player, willing to do administrative and clerical tasks as needed

Be able to work well in a busy team environment

Work well under pressure

Pay Rate for Senior Corporate Commercial Law Clerk:

Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year plus overtime, depending on experience.
