Senior Consultant, Career Coaching
Reporting to the Director, Talent Management & Employee Experience (TalEx) and partnering with the broader TalEx team and HR, you will play a key role at Intact to provide career coaching to a diverse group of employees of varying backgrounds, age groups and experiences to support their development and career growth.
Here’s how you will make a difference.
You will successfully leverage your hands-on experience in career coaching and development to:
- Provide career coaching to employees in support of the Grow with Us pillar of Intact’s employee promise and help turn career development into a competitive advantage for Intact.
- Have open and transparent conversations with employees that help them identify strengths and development gaps; guide employees in the creation of action plans to close development gaps.
- Advise employees on skills needed for different roles across the organization and guide them in researching career options and identifying jobs that may be a match for their skills.
- Assist employees in planning strategic career moves and developing leadership skills.
- Guide and advise employees that may have a desire to change career streams within Intact.
- Recommend or administer relevant assessments as required.
- Guide employees to leverage Intact tools and resources for career growth and document aspirations, skills and development plans in our Contact People by Workday system.
- Design and deliver careers workshops for different business areas.
- Develop excellent relationships within HR to become a key resource, advisor and expert for the HR community on career coaching for employees.
- Develop relevant tools, guidance, and training for HR to equip them to support their business in understanding and accessing career coaching.
- Work in collaboration with communications to promote Intact’s career coaching service, and other careers tools internally and externally.
- Develop KPIs to measure and report on the success of career coaching at Intact.Keep up to date on trends and best practices, and regularly assess the results of career coaching offering to identify opportunities to strengthen and evolve and meet organizational needs.
Here’s what you offer us.
- A degree/diploma in HR, Sociology, Psychology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Completion of an accredited coaching certification / course(s) is preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience in a career counselling / advisory role.
- 7 or more years of related experience that includes a strong focus on coaching for career growth and development.
- A strong understanding of roles and skills requirements in insurance or financial services would be an asset.
- Knowledge of human resources and recruitment techniques.
- A passion for development, and the desire to create and implement employee-centric solutions.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills to connect with employees and understand their career goals and aspirations.
- A high level of professionalism, honesty and transparency to deliver constructive and practical messages to help employees self-realize and grow.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to develop and deliver presentations for large audiences.
- A collaborative and inclusive mindset.
- Ability to speak French is an asset.
