The Registered Nurse (RN) works as a member of the rural health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals, families and/or communities within level of competency. Patient population varies from emergency care, pre- and post-operative, paediatric, seniors, palliative, labour and delivery and postpartum. The RN provides leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, preventing illness, injury and disability or supporting a peaceful death. The RN provides care throughout the life span, in all stages of health and complexities of illness. The successful candidate will administer safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing care standards.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.17/hour - $42.96/hour ($35.87/hour - $43.82/hour effective April 1, 2023). Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Current Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Minimum 2 years OBS nursing experience obtained within the past 3 year of which a minimum of 465 hours obtained in the last 6 months in an LDR. Current Fetal Health Surveillance certification. Ability to work in maternity triage. Certification in Obstetrical Triage & Acuity Scale (OTAS). N95 Fit testing.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy Rural Hospital with experience in ER and Acute Care. Charge Registered Nurse experience. Experience in a day surgery unit and experience with post procedural sedation and anesthesia.
