Location: Southwood Care Centre's SPECIAL CARE UNIT and HOSPICE UNIT
Position Type: Full-time permanent
Hours of Work: 9:00 am to 5:15 pm (flexibility required)
Salary: Dependent on experience ($40-$46.00/hour)
Role Responsibilities:
- Functions as a Therapeutic Services Program Supervisor responsible for the supervision/direction of department program assistants and coordination of programs offered by the Therapeutic Service Department.
- Maintains appropriate records of planned programs and attendance
- Completes InterRai MDS assessment elements as appropriate for the discipline.
- Participate in the review of triggered of RAPS and development of resident care plan consistent with the Collaborative Care Model Participate in outings and other special events
- Maintains equipment and supply inventory
- Documents care, programs, and interactions as required on the Resident’s health care record.
- Demonstrate respect to all customers, by working with them in a calm, courteous manner
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy is required
- Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Alberta College + Association and Canadian Physiotherapy Association
- A minimum of two years of experience in a Continuing Care setting is preferred.
- Preference is given to applicants with work experience related to Long Term Care.
- Preference is given to applicants with training in rehabilitation, recreation, or nursing programs for healthcare workers.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined.
- Demonstrates concern and interest in providing a safe and attractive environment for facility customers, i.e. residents, guests, and staff.
- Demonstrates effective communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to function as an effective team member with other Staff, Residents, Families, and the Public.
