Med Ontario is a fast-growing app-based virtual health care clinic seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner for a part-time permanent position. This position will involve five 5-hour shifts Monday to Sunday for a total of approximately 25 hours each week. The successful candidate will function as an autonomous primary care provider, working independently and without supervision, providing virtual episodic care to a wide range of patients across all ages. You will be able to work from home to provide virtual care to patients, and our flexible shifts can be scheduled around your lifestyle. There will be an option to increase to full-time hours in the future if desired.

Required Work Experience:

• Two or more years experience in primary care would be preferred
• OSCAR EMR experience an asset

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide virtual episodic medical care to patients following evidence-based guidelines
• Perform focused history taking, arrange appropriate diagnostic testing, and provide necessary treatments for patients
• Provide patient education as required
• Review diagnostic testing, imaging, and laboratory results and arrange appropriate follow-up care as necessary
• Work independently without supervision

Required Education & Qualifications:

• Certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario: Registered Nurse Certificate of Competence with Extended Class (RNEC)
• BScN degree in Nursing required, MScN degree in Nursing would be an asset
• Completion of a Nurse Practitioner Certificate, including successful completion of the College of Nurses of Ontario Adult or Primary Care Nurse Practitioner examinations
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work in an independent and self-directed manner
• Efficiently prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment using superior time management skills
• Excellent decision-making, problem recognition, and problem solving skills
• Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Demonstrated ability to maintain excellent attendance and superior work ethic and professionalism
• The successful candidate will provide an acceptable Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
