Work Description
The Master Data Supervisor will support operations of our construction division by managing the workflow and queue of requests for the creation and maintenance of master data files in the ERP system. The role is responsible for ensuring the quality of master data in the ERP system and overseeing the team of coordinators processing requests. The performance of duties requires an ability to succeed in a high-volume, complex process, think critically, and maintain a high level of accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established business processes.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manage and drive responsibilities to Master Data coordinators, triage and assign setup requests based on urgency and internal Service Level Agreement deadlines.
- Oversees initiatives for improving data management processes.
- Perform quality control reviews of all setups prepared by coordinators.
- Consults with operations and finance teams to ensure timely, accurate and efficient setup and maintenance of all master data to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
- Manage, train, and coach the Master Data coordinators; occasionally stepping in to backfill when one is away.
- Identify and escalate more complex set-up requests; work with the Manager to resolve and determine the most appropriate course of action.
- Bring forward recommendations for process improvements, procedures and system efficiencies.
- Oversee Master Data processes in the ERP system, in adherence with designated standard operating procedures and policies; including but not limited to:
- Open and close jobs
- Setup and maintenance throughout project life of cost codes, job cost budgets, customer contracts, subcontracts and change orders.
- Creation and maintenance of vendor, customer and equipment master files
- Maintain testing of new software releases with respect to master files.
- Other master files may be added to the role over time.
- All other duties as required.
Statement of Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Post secondary education in Business, Accounting or Finance would be highly regarded.
- 5 to 8 years’ work experience in a similar or related role would be considered an asset.
- Experience related to business operations, accounting or administration would be applicable in this role.
- Familiarity with tier-1 or tier-2 level ERP systems would be considered an asset.
- Experience supervising and leading a team would be considered an asset.
- The ability to maintain a high attention to detail doing repetitive or similar tasks.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills using available resources, and proactively escalate when additional resources may be required
- Effective communication and organizational skills, with the ability to change priorities to meet business needs.
- Strong time management and planning skills, with an emphasis on quality output.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment with multiple functional groups.
- Proficient use of various office-based software, including Microsoft Office (basic excel skills are required) and Adobe.
Physical/Sensory Effort/Work Environment
- Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
- Sitting or standing for long periods of time at workstation.
- Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Repetitive work.
- Overtime may be required.
