Your day-to-day

· Administration of the Stelco safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the Operating facility

· Making design modifications to existing equipment to reduce maintenance, improve reliability and improve product quality

· Performing equipment failure analysis and making appropriate recommendations

· Reviewing proposed equipment replacement or upgrades, including capital projects with multi-million dollar budgets

· Working with consultants and equipment vendors to ensure process requirements and applicable standards and codes are met

· Engage in maintenance planning functions to minimize downtime

· Investigate process improvements and participate in facilities upgrades

What you bring to the table

Job Qualifications

· Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field

· 0 – 2 years of professional work experience

Job Skills and Knowledge

· Good interpersonal and leadership skills

· Good oral and written communication skills

· Good problem solving skills

· Ability and desire to work in a shop floor environment

· Good computer skills

· An enthusiastic approach and ability to learn quickly and assume responsibility

· As an individual contributor, qualified candidates for this role also must demonstrate the ability to champion change and effective communication while contributing to team success.

Your work environment

· Both office and mill conditions, wearing PPE will be required

This position will report to the Area Manager at our Hamilton Works facility.
