We are looking for a Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) to engage the site operational leaders supporting them to achieve their people and business priorities in addition to leading several HR projects.

This role is a great opportunity for someone to coach and influence site leaders and the local HR team and have a genuine impact on the direction of the business. The Human Resources Business Partner will support leadership to define, build, and maintain employee engagement through data, conversations, and observations to determine the required solutions. Provide guidance in the areas of talent attraction and retention, succession management, leadership development, organizational development, diversity, equity & inclusion, performance management, training, and compensation & benefits.

Reporting to the Director - HRBP, you will be:

  • People Foundations Project – project management & team coordination to establish baseline working practices on the following topics:

1) Employee Value Proposition: Researching best practice, designing business cases and writing policies to help attract & retain employees;

2) Recruitment: Improving current practices to find creative solutions to move the best caliber of candidates quickly through the process;

3) Workforce management: establishing robust practices around internal employee movements, leave scheduling, etc for our ~800 union employees; and

4) Training: supporting the Learning & Development team to establish strong training framework across our operator & maintainer workforce

  • Lead engagement initiatives – People Survey, Local Happy-or-Not campaigns, etc
  • Strategically manage the workforce plan & labor budgets
  • Provides coaching and advice to leadership teams in a way that tests conventional thinking
  • Acts as an escalation point to resolve and complex issues

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team;
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (HR, Psychology, or business);
  • 10 - 15 years of experience in an generalist/advisory position in human resources;
  • Proven ability to engage, influence and collaborate with senior leadership teams with a good application of contemporary HR systems, processes and practices;
  • Ability to coach and influence senior leaders in a way that challenges the status quo;
