If you said yes to the questions above, you might be the next person we are looking for. Industrial Metals is in need of a permanent full-time General Labourer - Sorter/Picker whose initial assignment would be in our process downstream DAYS ( Monday to Friday - 8:00 am to 4:30 pm)

The ideal candidate is someone who can stand for long hours, has good work ethic and initiative, is reliable, and can follow instructions and the company's Health & Safety rules.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identifying various metal pieces
• Sorting and picking various materials accordingly
• Cleaning work area and equipment as often as required
• Recognize operational problems of the machine and report them to the supervisor
• Operate equipment (when required) while adhering to all safe work practices and procedures
• Work in accordance with all company health and safety guidelines
• Assist in other yard, shop, or warehouse duties when the need arises
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• We are willing to train the right candidate! Previous similar industrial-setting experience gives you an advantage, but it is NOT A MUST
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 lbs.)
• Quick and attentive learner
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
• Working knowledge of safety standards
• Good English communication skills
• Demonstrate the ability to work professionally, and respectfully with a positive attitude in a fast-paced working environment
• High level of personal integrity
• Strong work ethic and ability to complete work promptly
• Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Work Conditions & Additional Information:

• Work location: 550 Messier St.
• Working hours - Days: Monday to Friday - 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
• Prolonged exposure to loud equipment/machine – personal protective equipment will be provided
• Long hours of standing
• Loud & dusty work environment
  
• Public transportation might be limited depending on your shift; It is expected that you can make transportation arrangements to get to work
• Own tools/equipment required: Steel-toed safety boots
