We are looking for a Funding Development Coordinator in Fort McMurray, Alberta, who will research and apply for grant opportunities to advance our mission. They'll maintain a system to track grant application progress while regularly reporting on progress. They'll also build strong relationships with granting organizations, reporting to those organizations upon the completion of projects.

This position reports to the Executive Director and is an in-office role with work in the community as required.

Successful applicants should have strong research and writing skills and post-secondary education in a related field. Experience in Government Relations or the oil and gas industry, qualified status in the Métis Nation of Alberta, and fluency in Cree are preferred candidate traits.

Responsibilities

  • Seek and apply for grant opportunities, working with stakeholders and contractors to prepare documentation for grant applications
  • Create new sponsorship opportunities and enhance existing sponsorship relationships

· Maintain a system to track grant applications, sponsorship opportunities, and related projects to manage multiple grants simultaneously

· Prepare and present reports on ongoing projects and grant proposals to the Executive Director and Local Council

· Compose and distribute meeting agendas, packages, minutes and action logs for Council meetings and other meetings

· Prepare and submit reports to granting organizations following the completion of projects

· Ensure granting organizations receive appropriate recognition as required

· Raise community awareness of MML 1935's community impact and programs

· Build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders

· Attend community events on behalf of MML 1935

· Other duties as required

  • Computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

What would give you an edge

  • Experience in government relations or the oil & gas industry
  • Metis Nation of Alberta (MNA) qualified status
  • Fluency in the Cree language
