Position Overview
An opportunity exists in the Corporate Services Department for a Regular Full-Time front desk Customer Service Representative to perform public contact, customer service and clerical work. This position is the public’s primary point of contact providing customer service at the front desk, on the phone, and via email, regarding all of the District’s operations, services, programs, events, bylaws and regulations.
You will be responsible for providing customer service in a professional and courteous manner, and will simultaneously use telephone and computer systems to handle inquiries, research answers, enter requests for service, comments or complaints for investigation and for other purposes. In working as part of a team, your ability to deal effectively and courteously with internal and external contacts including the public, staff, Council and others is paramount, as well as your ability to handle enquiries, complaints and service requests with promptness, tact, diplomacy and accuracy.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy environment where excellent service and multi-tasking is essential. Experience in a call centre or multi-line reception environment, using a variety of computer applications and an e-mail management system would align well with this position. You have completion on grade 12 supplemented by courses related to communications or customer service plus sound public contact experience in a customer oriented environment; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
The pay range for this unionized position is $26.34 to $30.94 per hour (2021 rates).
