About Me

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to check out my website! My name is Amanda Kling. I was born and raised in South Central Pennsylvania. I have been with my husband Dan -whom I met in middle school!- since 2009 and together we have three awesome children. Jasper was born in 2010, Scarlett in 2012, and Maewyn in 2014. There is never a dull moment in our house! I have also had the amazing experience of birthing a baby as a surrogate to close out 2016. (Apparently I have a thing for birthing babies in even numbered years!)

During my first pregnancy I started reading anything and everything I could about pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding, which started my passion for birth and wanting to support women. Being the open book that I am, it became known on social media and in my circle of friends that if you have a pregnancy or breastfeeding question, talk to Amanda! I attended my first birth as a doula for a friend in March of 2015 and that is when I decided why not make a career out of something that I have a strong passion for?! I decided pretty much right away to take a DONA childbirth education class and labor doula workshop in 2015.

Having a positive recollection of your birth is crucial to having a great post partum recovery period. It is my goal to help you have exactly that-a birth that you can look back on and smile! I look forward to meeting you!

What is a doula?

The word doula comes from the greek word doulē which means female slave. In today’s modern world, the word has come to mean a person professionally trained to support a woman during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum which includes educational, emotional and physical support.

What will you do as my doula?
