Talkatoo is reinventing dictation software by modernizing the experience for veterinary professionals, making it easy to use, and ensuring it is accessible everywhere. We are a fast-growing, funded startup working with industry-leading partners. Our full-service offering, Verified by Talkatoo, takes the hassle out of medical records. Veterinary professionals simply dictate their notes into our iOS app and our scribes (you!) do the rest. Scribes clean up the notes, correct spelling and grammatical mistakes, and format them based on the users unique templates and needs. Scribes then enter the medical record directly into the veterinary professionals PMS.

We are looking for a capable Veterinary Technician to join our growing team of veterinary transcriptionists (scribes). You will be responsible for transcribing veterinary medical records. Your attention to detail, fast and accurate typing and strong veterinary medical knowledge will make you excel in this position. You must be able to learn and work with a variety of Practice Management Software systems—particularly Woofware, be a highly effective communicator, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable with varying forms of technology and software.

This is a full-time hourly position with approximate work hours as follows:
10am-6pm PT
2pm-10pm ET

Compensation ranges from $19-$23/hour.

We are a remote-first company, with an office in Halifax.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe veterinary medical records accurately and quickly
• Access various PMS to input and update medical records
• Communicate effectively with veterinary professional clients and internal team members through phone, video conferencing, email and/or text
• Share your knowledge of veterinary practice workflow to improve processes

Qualifications

• Registered or non-registered Veterinary Technician with a minimum of five years working in veterinary clinics
• Experience working with a variety of PMS systems is preferred
• Experience working in Woofware is an asset
• Varying in-clinic experience is an asset

• Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology including but not limited to anatomy, procedures, diagnoses and drug names

• Organizational skills — ability to prioritize, shift priorities to meet tight timelines
