There are openings in our Whitby manufacturing facility for Technical Writer.
As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality and understandable documentation with the goal to improve the success of our machine operations with standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Study equipment training manuals & instructional material.
- Communicate with production managers and operators to understand operating procedures of the equipment.
- Collaborate with project and production staff.
- Analyze and manage existing operating procedures.
- Create and maintain the operating manuals for various machines.
- Make high-quality documentation that meets standards, is appropriate and easy to use
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in technical writing of standard machine operating manuals
- Ability to translate highly technical information into easily understandable information
- Creative skills and usage of photographs, drawings, diagrams, and charts that increase learners’ understanding
- Clear and concise written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Professional Writing or Creative Writing is an asset
- Background in engineering or computer science is an asset
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and time-management skills
