Team Sales Associate (Summer Intern)

Main Purpose of the Job:

Majer Hockey is a family owned specialty Hockey store, located at Finch and Dufferin Street. We are the single largest provider of GTHL uniforms and equipment. Our team department is responsible for facilitating, providing and distributing of hockey equipment to the nine organizations we work with and have worked with over the past 20 years. This is a summer paid Internship for someone studying sports business management, recreational management or a general business degree. This internship will provide the candidate with valuable work experience in a fast pace, detailed business environment. The role will allow the candidate to learn about the following:

  • Purchasing and distributing of Specific Hockey team related merchandise
  • Merchandising guidelines of hockey Suppliers
  • How to manage and structure a custom order purchase to fit a specific timelines
  • Learning how the dynamics between the department and the GTHL team managers work
  • How to organize and execute instore/off site fittings/Sales.
  • How to properly manage shipping and receiving of incoming and outgoing merchandise
  • How to deal with walk-in customers to secure team orders or special imprints of Jerseys , embroidery and in store heat press
  • Candidate will learn some warehousing skills
  • Must be willing and able to work in an intense, fast pace, and time sensitive environment; Must be self motivated, energetic, dynamic and Enthusiastic.

Duties and Responsibilities: Can Include

  • Assisting in the organization of the flow of product/merchandise coming in and going out of the store/warehouse
  • Learning about the tender process and monitoring with the presentation to Team owners/managers
  • Guiding the team design/production crew with necessary information and material needed to facilitate doing their jobs Ex., Inventory levels or customer requests
  • Handling phone and email communication with team parents or organization
  • Organizing the warehouse areas for pick up or storage of product/merchandised
  • Managing and organizing shipping of Products
  • Managing the receiving of product as they come into the store

Qualifications:

· High School graduate at minimum

· Minimum 2 years’ experience working in hockey retail or customer service would be an asset

· Outstanding speaking skills and above average communication skills

· Minimum 1 years’ experience handling customer complaint

· some conflict resolution experience required in handling customer service issues

· Above average listener to make sure we understand what customers are requesting

· Minimum 1 year experience using excel, windows and adobe

There will be some lifting and use of a rolling ladder. Candidate should be able to comfortably lift 9Kg.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual, Seasonal, Internship / Co-op
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: From $17.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Customers now follow the Provincial and Municipal gov't March 1st standards; therefore, they dont have to wear face mask. The store staff however will continue to wear facemask until further notice.
