About the Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Nutrition and Food Service Supervisor and Manager of Nutrition and Food Services, the Journeyman Cook independently, and within a team, prepares meals using standardized quantity recipes for patient food services operations, as well as for clientele of the cafeteria/catering/retail food services. The Journeyman Cook, in collaboration with the other Cooking staff, is also responsible for menu planning and maintaining a high standard of sanitation and safety in an institutional food service operation.


About You

  • Grade 12 required (Employees hired prior to September 2004 exempt)
  • Journeyman’s Papers required *consideration may be given to those with an equivalent combination of education and experience if there are no successful applicants that meet this requirement
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (lifting, bending, walking, standing)
  • Serv Safe Advanced course required
  • One (1) year hospital food experience required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Salary Information

$23.32 - $26.08 Hourly
