The opportunity

This competition is to fill a two-year term, anticipatory permanent, position working 75 hours bi-weekly. We are happy to a temporary assignment if you have your supervisor’s prior approval.

We are looking for a highly motivated, team-oriented, critical thinking individual to support the Whitehorse Housing Operations branch and its clients.

Reporting to the Manager, Whitehorse Housing, this position is responsible for promoting and fostering successful tenancies in the social housing program in Whitehorse. As part of a team of Social Housing Coordinators, you will have the opportunity to help low-income Yukoners achieve the basic need of having a place to call home. Essential Qualifications

• Diploma in social services, social sciences or other related field
• Demonstrated experience providing client service to a diverse and vulnerable client group
• Demonstrated experience composing business correspondence such as letters, court-worthy notes and reports
• Demonstrated work experience interpreting and enforcing legislation and/or policies to administer programs
• Demonstrated work experience in case management, crisis prevention, mediation, or conflict resolution
• Experience working with housing-related issues is considered an asset

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
