We are seeking a shop Lead Operator for our busy Grand Prairie operation. The successful incumbent must have great organizational skills, be mechanically inclined, be able to weld, and to operate a shop loader and yard truck. Testing and equipment experience would definitely be seen as an asset.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the incumbent would be responsible for prioritizing maintenance and servicing requirements of all Grand Prairie equipment, ensuring all vehicles (trucks, trailers and equipment) are in good operating condition.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ensure ALL equipment is maintained to a ‘work ready’ condition

· Facility up-keep, maintenance, organization, including general house keeping duties

· General maintenance of shop tools, equipment, yard and vehicles

· Assembly work, which may require the operation of automated machinery, power/hand tools

· Preparation of equipment for upcoming work

· Load/unload trailers as required

· Operation of skid steer and yard tractor to move equipment in and around the yard

· Restocking of shop consumables, pick-up and delivery of supplies to field as directed

· Perform routine equipment inspections and completion of inspection reports in a timely manner

· Lifting of equipment and tools required, up to 50lbs

· Demonstrate a commitment and accountability to uphold Colter’s strict safety standards

· Perform any other general labour related tasks as directed

Minimum Qualifications/Skill/Experience

· Reside in the Grande Prairie area (within 30 minutes of our shop)

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred

· Valid Class 5 Drivers License, with a clean driver’s abstract with no major violations

· 3 years driving experience

· Experience operating a skid steer and towing equipment

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision within a fast-paced environment

· Ability to stand, climb, bend and lift up to 50lbs for extended periods of time

· Oilfield experience would be an asset

· H2S and First Aid tickets would be an asset

Working Conditions:

· Successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

· Indoor (shop environment) and outdoors including extreme weather conditions

· Physically demanding

· Exposure to noise, industrial chemicals, fumes, dust

· Travel may be required
