Job Description Job type: Full-time, Permanent (Mon-Friday + on call)
PGS Equipment ltd. is currently looking to hire a Shop Foreman, woman / Service Advisor / Writer for our facility in Taber, AB as well as farms in Alberta and Saskatchewan. We supply row crop farmers with the equipment and systems to plant, feed, protect, harvest, store and process crops like potatoes, carrots, onions, beans, garlic, and other specialty crops. Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing workorders when a job comes in, including appraisal of (repair) jobs
- Responsible for booking and scheduling of work orders, stays informed of the progress.
- Finalise workorders, (text, labor and parts related)
- Directs and assists in the diagnosis of machine problems of technicians and apprentices
- Acts as a point-of-contact for technicians on equipment repair inquiries and updates
- Communicate with technicians on-site to help them as Backoffice
- Communicate with parts to order parts and maintain inventory of returns from technicians
- Inspects and repairs all special tools. Recommends new tooling as required
- Need to be able to communicate with customers as well as suppliers via phone and email
- Maintaining an up-to-date inventory of our service trucks
- Perform work in a safe manner by themselves and with others
- Assist with other duties as required
Requirements:
- Must be dependable and self-motivated team player with the ability to communicate effectively, negotiating and conflict resolution.
- 5+ years experience in assembling / repair of farm equipment. Experience with hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting to assist clients and technicians
- Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Work both as a member of a team and individually with minimal supervision
- Always maintain proper and safe working conditions
- Effectively work in a fast-paced environment, able to work well under pressure and shifting priorities
- Ability to plan and organize is a must with open communication with management
- Strong computer and technology skills is a must
- Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract, forklift
