Position overview

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Senior Operations Analyst (Airport Performance) on the Airport System Design team, part of the Airport Capacity & System Design Department. Reporting to the Manager, Airport System Design, the Senior Operations Analyst is accountable for operational data analytics, performance reporting and operational research to inform operational programs and strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collect and analyze operational data related to aircraft, passenger, and baggage flow to assess airport operation performance against service level targets
• Apply data journalism processes by engaging with operational subject matter experts to ensure holistic reporting through application of appropriate operational context
• Design actionable key performance indicators to drive improvements across all airport processes and systems including safety
• Provide data quality, data verification, performance monitoring, and simulation output validation in reference to ground truth data
• Ensure ground truth data accurately captures operational reality and ensure parameters are up to date in operational database
• Work collaboratively with various internal stakeholders to develop forecasts, assess capacity constraint, and provide input to support operational and capital planning

Key qualifications include:

• 2-5 years of recent, related experience, supplemented by a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Degree in mathematics, operational research, engineering, or computer science is an asset
• Experience developing framework required to establish actionable KPIs is an asset
• Experience in solving industrial-level mathematical optimization problems is an asset
• Demonstrate intellectual, analytical and creative ability to learn quickly, identify issues, make judgements and propose solutions
• Enthusiastic, resilient, and confident – you’re someone who can always get things done
• Have the character and ability to work effectively with others in a diverse team
