Senior Financial Analyst – Permanent Full-time

As an integral member of the Finance Department, the Senior Financial Analyst works collaboratively with the
Director/CFO to ensure financial reporting is performed in an accurate and timely manner and that there are sufficient controls in place to adequately protect the assets of the hospital and partner organizations.

The Senior Financial Analyst assists with period-end accounting close activities, variance analysis, budget preparation, annual external audit process and provides analytical information to the Finance Director/CFO, other hospital Managers, Partner agencies, the Ministry of Health, and the CE-LHIN. The Financial Analyst also acts as backup to other accounting functions within the organization.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

• 3 year Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Minimum 3 years accounting and financial work experience
• Strong analytical skills
• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and business practices
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workflow and meet conflicting deadlines in a fast paced and high volume environment
• Ability to be a team player, with excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills
• Prior experience in general ledger software and Microsoft Office (advanced proficiency in Microsoft

Excel)

• Demonstrated good attendance record and the ability to work outside normal business hours as required

Preference will be given to those candidates who also have the following qualifications:

• Formal professional accounting designation program in progress
• Previous experience in a Healthcare or Not-for-profit setting
• Current knowledge of Ministry Information System (MIS) guidelines and OHRS (Ontario Hospital

Reporting Standards)

• Experience in a healthcare financial module (ie EPIC, Ormed, Microsoft GP)
• Previous payroll experience
