Alberta Health Services is currently looking to add a Project Manager to the Connect Care, Clinical Operations Informatics Office team to support the planning, execution and evaluation of Connect Care's Continuing Care projects related to training, readiness, and implementation. Connect Care is a transformative provincial health care program that looks to integrate over 1300 independent systems across Alberta into one platform that will enhance patient quality care as we know it. Reporting to the Senior Program Delivery Lead – Connect Care, Clinical Operations Informatics Office, this is an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in project management, change management and stakeholder engagement that will contribute to the success of Connect Care. There is flexibility as to the location of this position within the Province of Alberta. At the time of appointment, the successful candidate may discuss location options with the hiring manager.
Description:
The Project Manager is a professional role that combines advanced project management skills along with seasoned or significant expertise and clinical knowledge. The position is responsible for the inception, design, implementation, and closure of small to medium sized projects or a component of a large project relating to Connect Care, Clinical Operations Informatics Office. This position will work with the Senior Project Manager, Leads, Director, Executive Director, Managers, Project Coordinators, Business Analysts and Senior Trainers.

Knowledge of project management principles, basic PMO tools and methodologies. 3 to 5 years of project coordinator/management experience. Working knowledge MS Project, MS Office suite and Visio. Working knowledge of AHS.
Additional Required Qualifications:Able to maintain positive relationships as well be self-directed and effective in team environments as required. Basic knowledge of systems principles, as well as theories and concepts of the healthcare business. Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines are essential. Proven accountability in managing large, complex projects. Proven project management skills (ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists, manage project plans, and escalate issues appropriately). Strong communication and follow-up skills. Proven issues management skills and experience. Actively and positively negotiate solutions in areas of conflict.
Preferred Qualifications:Project Management Professional (PMP) designation. Experience planning major events involving diverse clinical and operational stakeholders is an asset. Experience leading medium sized project teams preferred. A bachelor’s degree plus working towards a project management designation preferred. Healthcare system knowledge and experience in Continuing Care settings are considered an assets.
