Steelcon Fabrication Inc. has an opening for a Project Manager, based in Brampton Ontario and reporting to the Sr. Project Manager. The Project Manager provides overall technical expertise, administrative and support for multiple construction projects or areas of a larger project. Accountable for safety, budget, quality, schedule, and profitability performance. Oversees project resources, project scopes, and maintains excellent stakeholder relationships.

As a project manager, you will contribute to our team by:

• Managing project performance, schedule, and resources.
• Understanding client drivers and offers value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and/or schedule benefit while maintaining value added outcomes as part of our solution provider service where warranted.
• Preparing review of design documentation leveraging the necessary team members and seeks resolution from the design team with respect to level of design completeness, accuracy, quality as applicable to various design stages and construction.
• Participating in reviews of subcontractors’ submittals leveraging the assistance of other team members for compliance with scope, design documentation, and coordination with other disciplines against the design documents prior to forwarding to the design team for their review.
• Initiating, overseeing, negotiating, and issues subcontracts and major purchase orders, and monitors their progress and schedule.
• Managing project team, client, erectors, and subcontractor relationships.
• Ensuring all owner, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are followed.
• Critically evaluating information from company operations and support departments and challenges the process as needed.
• Developing and maintaining strong customer focused relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.

What you will bring to this role:

• Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline. P. Eng designation as asset.
• 5+ years of progressive construction experience as a leader and mentor preferred.
• Project Management Professional designation (PMP)
• In-depth knowledge of construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, safety, and quality management practices for large, complex, and diverse projects.
• Knowledge of diverse project types, delivery and construction methods, and sequencing and timelines.
• In-depth knowledge of and ability to apply project construction laws and building codes and leverage such knowledge.
• Superior planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize team tasks for prompt execution.
• Demonstrated experience in leading effective project meetings with customer, consultants, internal employees; experience presenting at client meetings or for project pursuit.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills. Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgment.
• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internal operations systems: project management, scheduling, and estimating software.
