Title: Pharmacist / Pharmacy Manager
Overview:
Our Alberta-based Client is seeking a professional Pharmacist/Pharmacy Manager registered with the Alberta College of Pharmacy and in good standing to work at and support an established Pharmacy in a rural community within driving distance from Edmonton. We cannot provide a work permit. Need to be either a PR card or Canadian Citizen.
Things you need to have:
- Must have Licensed and in good standing with Alberta College of Pharmacy
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Pharmacy in Canada or another Country
- Excellent customer service skills and a strong sense of professionalism
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-directed and able to work independently
- Ability to work well in a team environment
What you will be doing:
- Oversee the pharmacy's day-to-day operations, including but not limited to order entry and receiving, customer service, dispensing, Inventory management, invoicing, deliveries, etc.
- Ability to lead, motivate and train staff accordingly
- Possess entrepreneurial skills with a passion to build the business
- Ensures compliance with federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations, policies and procedures, and accrediting body standards
- Continuous professional development to remain current on the latest advances in the pharmacy industry
- Providing professional and clinical functions related to dispensing including pharmaceutical and clinical care, patient counseling, etc.
- Liaising with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible patient care.
- Responsible for the training and orientation of new employees
Benefits and Perks:
- Pay Range: $60 - $65/hr. (on an annual basis) Depending on your work experience.
- Probation - 3 months
- Monday to Friday 9 am - 5:30 pm
- Closed on weekends and holidays.
- Staff size is 1 full-time pharmacist and 2 assistants (full-time and part-time)
- 2 weeks' holiday to start
- Paid lunch - 30mins time | 8.5 hours each day billing | work week is 42.5 hours (including the lunch hours)
- Extended healthcare spending account (amount TBD)
- Incentive - 20% of patient care services dependent on performance payable on a half-yearly/quarterly basis.
- Incentive - profit-share on specific individuals probably on a 2-3 year lock-in period with eventual long-term for even a buy-out option.
- Vilna is located in Smoky Lake County, on Highway 28, 150 km northeast of the city of Edmonton.
- 1.5 hours drive from Edmonton downtown.
- Iron Horse trail for quad-biking | Fishing - plenty of lakes within an hour's drive | Camping and hunting possibilities
- Temperatures are similar in the city of Edmonton.
- Part of the prairies, plenty of farmlands around
- The town has a population of 200-300 people with all basic amenities - grocery store, liquor store, post office, laundromat, cannabis store, ATB outlet, school (K-12), and public library. There is also a senior’s lodge that has a capacity of 40 people in town.
- Rental in Vilna is cheap, and old houses | can also find accommodation in St. Paul (56 km) or Smokey Lake (38 km) - these are larger towns and have more options available.
- Vegreville (89 km) has Walmart, Canadian Tire, etc. - all big box stores
- Restaurants and Bars are available in all the larger towns around Vilna - St. Paul, Smokey Lake, and Vegreville
- There is even a cricket team in St. Paul
- The pharmacy itself serves a trading area of 2000-3000 people.
- Smallish store of about 1100 sq. ft. serving over - 120+ prescriptions per day.
