Greater City Mechanical is looking for a Mechanical Estimator/Project Coordinator.

The ideal candidate is required to have experience in estimating jobs in the plumbing / sheetmetal field. We are seeking for someone with good communication skills, attention to detail and can work in a team-based environment. Office training on estimating programs will be provided.

FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Estimate preparation for costs of labour, equipment, materials, subcontractors and produce a final tender submission. Training available to the right candidate.
  • Complete full quantity take-off of all labour, materials and equipment required to complete the project as per contract specifications to ensure accuracy of pricing.
  • Review scope of work prior to issuing to subcontractors and submit with RFQ
  • Provide direction on the scope and requirements to the suppliers and subcontractors based on specifications included RFQ document.
  • Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers for labour, equipment, and material, to ascertain the most competitive price, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
  • Review subcontractors pricing, inclusions, exclusions or qualifications for price evaluation and subcontractor selection.
  • Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Complete a final bid submission review and oversee the final tender document submission to the client.
  • Occasionally travel to job sites for bid and project kick off meetings.
  • Adhere to all Company and Client policies and procedures.
  • Obtain and submit quotations for changes to project scope.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in preparing estimation proposals – training available to the right candidate
  • General construction knowledge and the integration of other trades work, understands specifications, methods, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to common construction processes.
  • Proven competency in the operation of key software and productivity tools such as MS Office (particularly Excel), Adobe Reader,
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and to work independently and self-monitor workload
  • Professional, approachable and customer-service oriented.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Drivers’ license class G.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skill.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $38,807.00-$82,433.00 per year
