Job Title: Intermediate accountant

The successful candidate should have an Accounting Diploma or Accounting degree (or is working towards CPA designation).

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Supporting the day-to-day financial activities

- Bookkeeping using QuickBooks

- Performing reconciliation of general ledger accounts and cost analyses for decision making.

- Generating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

- Preparing monthly closing entries

- General support in the general ledger reconciliation, banking, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivables accounting.

- Preparation GST/HST/QST returns
- Handling CRA enquires

- Performing other duties as required or as assigned.

Requirements for the role include:

• Bachelor or equivalent degree in accounting
• Preference will be given to candidates with a CPA designation (Studying for CPA is also an asset)
• 3-5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Good knowledge and proficiency of excel required. This includes functions like pivot tables, formulas like v-lookups, & data management
• Knowledge of Microsoft Powe BI is considered an important asset
• Knowledge of an ERP financial system
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, analytic skills, and attention to details
• Ability to think critically/analytically with excellent judgement and skill in decision making
• Fast learner with experience in a fast-paced environment.
