The Inside Sales Representative - Industrial Products position is the first line of customer contact / inside sales to existing and potential customers. This position provides product marketing, price maintenance, inventory monitoring, business development and order entry. This position also liaises and interfaces with customers, distributors, outside sales team, scheduling, the lab, distribution, and accounts receivable departments.
Job Duties include but not limited to:
- Increase Sales through service, strategic quoting, and quote follow up
- Maximize gross margins through balanced approach of optimizing price and sales growth
- Build strong relationships internally, with our supplier partners and of course, our customers.
- Provides prices and delivery directly to customers. - Preparation of all required quotes to various customers and maintains a current database
- Works a quote and follow up procedure, is the point of contact decision maker
- Ensure daily orders are entered accurately with all required information
- Able to provide technical application assistance
- Provide daily assistance to Territory Managers and Canadian Regional Manager
- Respond to incoming calls & faxes within 4 hours
- Respond to inquiries including inventory availability, delivery dates, pricing, technical info, etc.
- Provide excellent customer service in a professional and friendly manner
- Provides input on distributor relations and activities
- New customer and part number setups as required
- Complete all required RA forms for customer complaints and initiate complaint investigation
- Liaison between production and sales
- Provide back up for other Inside Sales Representatives as required
- Assist with Canadian physical inventory counts, special projects
- Represent at Trade Shows as required
- Product Marking – product promotion by email and direct mail to end users and distributors
- Enter Purchase Orders for inter-company NC orders
- Continuous learning about our products, our customers and our industry
- Special projects as assigned – market studies, potential future product specific projects
- Assist manufacturing in product inspection and determining if products meet customer requirements and specifications
- Prospecting for end-user (OEM) business on a project basis for industrial products and once opportunity is identified strategically “pull through” qualified leads to established distribution partners
- Duties are carried out in compliance within The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) which addresses the collection, storage and use of personal information by organizations in the private sector. The provisions apply to information collected, used and disclosed
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-3 years inside sales/customer service experience, preferably in a plastic or manufacturing related environment
- Plastics product knowledge or industry experience is considered an asset
- Ability to think and act independently within a fast-paced multi-task driven environment
- Computer literacy, working with Microsoft NAV, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Good organizational skills
- Goal driven with ability to work towards targets
- Great customer relationship skills
- Highly motivated and energetic team player
- Thrives in a team environment
- Self-starter and independently motivated
- Ability and willingness to learn
