Looking for a caregiver that can transport a lovely senior lady to her outings and join in the funtivities around the community.

Join the Wings of Care team as a personal caregiver and make a positive impact in people's lives during difficult times. Using your interpersonal skills, you'll provide superior care to your assigned clients as part of our customer-focused caregiving experience. You will create strong relationships with your clients as you assist them with companionship, physical activity, outings and transportation services.

Job Responsibilities

- Transport client with personal vehicle every Tuesday or Thursday for outings in the morning. Safely drive and transport client to and from outings and appointments such as doctor's visits, grocery shopping, seniors center for activities and healthy engagements, joining in with the client for walking sessions at the track, ect.

  • Work on weekly basis every Tues or Thurs for two hours
  • Clean and Organize vehicle
  • Be able to lift walker and grocery bags in and out of vehicle
  • Organize/Plan suitable and fun age appropriate outings
  • Be able to provide references and conduct driving abstract
  • Be able to provide RCMP/vulnerable persons check upon hiring as well as pass drug test
  • Have the patience to communicate and talk and engage with the senior while driving
  • Assist patient with companionship services as needed.
  • Be comfortable with the concept of speaking fluent English.

- Assist patient with companionship and outing services as needed.

- Record all progress or other changes in the client's health, behavior and mobility in detailed records of services provided.

- Engage in discussions about the client with the rest of the health care team, such as management, nurses, family members of the client, and others as needed.

- Support and guide client during stressful times, as well as assist them in adjusting to new lifestyles changes

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

1-3 years’ experience as a caregiver

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proven customer service abilities

High school degree or equivalent

Valid Canadian Driver's License and reliable vehicle

Preferred:

Course work or certification in caregiving or nursing assistance

Current certificate in CPR/AED and First Aid

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 2 per week

Pay: $19.75-$22.52 per hour
