Horseshoe Hill Construction Inc. is looking for a motivated Estimator/ Area Project Manager to join our Atlantic team.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years professional experience as an Estimator/Project Manager, highly tuned attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
Applicants are required to show proficiency in;
- Analyzing Information,
- Estimating/RPT’s/RFP’s processes,
- Project Planning,
- Provincial Safety Regulations and Training Requirements.
- Standard Contract Procedures, and
- Experience in Vendor Negotiations.
- Working knowledge in Heavy Bid (HCSS) estimating software and cost analysis, and Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must.
Higher consideration will be given to applicants who hold PEng or C.E.T certification.
This is a full time, salary position.
In this position you will:
Work out of our Newfoundland office and report directly to our President/CEO + Vice President of Construction.
- Search procurements sites for new tendering opportunities;
- Prepare cost estimates by analyzing proposals and tender/contract requirements in the company’s scope of work;
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents;
- You will be responsible for the preparation and complete review of tenders and the related contract documents for submission including all requests for qualification documentation and supplementary submissions.;
- Finalize and review completed tenders with management by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information as outlined by the owner in the tender package and ensure submission in a timely fashion;
- Review and understand contract specifications and drawings;
- Manage and implement the quality control Plan (QCP) and planning requirements/transmittals required by contract for a smooth project start-up
- You will coordinate the delivery to site of all materials and equipment in a timely manner and as required by the project schedule,
- Assist with the pricing of change orders that arise on projects;
- Review quantities and payment particulars with the Sr. Management team throughout the project to ensure job costs are current and complete cost/budget reviews monthly with Site Supervisors, Ensure job costs are current and complete cost/budget reviews monthly with Site Supervisors;
- Ensure, in conjunction with Health and Safety Officer/administration, that all job site hazards are identified, signs posted, and all other project safety requirements are met,
- Additional Responsibilities may be assigned.
