Coastal Craft Yachts (www.coastalcraft.com) is the most trusted name in the Yacht industry in North America and located right in the heart of Gibsons, BC! Coastal Craft is looking for a Production Finishing Manager to join their thriving team.
As a member of the Coastal Craft management team, you will provide leadership and technical direction to the department’s staff. With safety always at the forefront, you will utilize your management skills and experience to ensure project milestones are delivered on time, through the scheduling of labour resources and materials requirements, and that constraints and project challenges are identified and addressed.

The Perks:
- This position is full-time from Monday to Friday.
- Compensation is negotiable based on experience and has a 3-month probation period. We also have a variety of benefits for our team members.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage department staff and resources, ensuring projects and work assignments are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards as established by Coastal Craft.
- Establish a succession plan for the department, identify potential candidates, and formalize succession requirements, including gap analysis, training, and mentoring. Implement and execute succession activities, working closely with identified candidate(s).
- Develop and formalize department training and certification programs.
- Provide hands-on support and leadership to department staff, demonstrating a highly developed skill set with respect to fabrication, interpretation of plans and drawings, and applying those skills to Coastal Craft production projects.
- Support and maintain a formal quality control program for receiving of parts and completion of work.
- Liaise with customers for any technical department related questions they may have while determining the requirements of their boat.
- Research any proposed new technologies, techniques, and tools to stay ahead of the curve and act as the Company’s Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Maintain complete and detailed records for each build and product line with the goal of improving information flow within the department and facilitating efficiencies and repeatability.
- Work with third party engineering or vendors to build stable, positive, and professional working relationships.
- Take responsibility for the quality of all work you have signed off, whether developed by you, a crew member, or a third party.
- Ensure all designs and planning will take into account cost, installation, training, lead times, service, and appearance.
- Make sure Quality Control issues are received and addressed immediately to ensure that designs are updated, schedules are updated, and staff has all necessary information.
- Be creative and flexible with scheduling to meet production and project needs.
Qualifications:
- Certified Red Seal trade certificate or equivalent experience.
- Solid experience with production planning, yacht manufacturing and employee supervision.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment.
