Finance and Payroll Administrator

(Permanent, full-time)

The role of the Finance and Payroll Administrator is to ensure efficient and timely financial operations in partnership with the Manager of Finance and Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to support and enhance the work of the organization. The Finance and Payroll Administrator is responsible for accurate financial recording, payroll administration, government remittances, project financial reports and assisting staff in administrative duties. Duties of the Finance and Payroll Administrator include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare and process government filings and remittances (Payroll, HST Rebate, WHSCC);
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and vendors;
  • Analyze GL activities and prepare ad hoc reports.
  • Assist with monthly and year end financial reviews
  • Provide support in performing bank reconciliations, entering transactions, balancing, and clearing
  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable
  • Prepare and submit payroll
  • Review payroll reports, enter payroll journal entries, reconcile RRSP and other payroll accounts, and prepare related payments
  • Prepare and post receipts, deposits, purchase orders, invoices, and conduct other standard bookkeeping tasks
  • Prepare and file company tax documents
  • Develop and streamline operational efficiencies - including monitoring of capital expenses and developing inventory systems

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess and demonstrate competency in the following areas generally acquired through a combination of education and work experience:

· Postsecondary education in accounting/bookkeeping, payroll, or equivalent.

· Minimum 2 years work experience in finance and payroll administration.

· Exceptional computer skills, including accurate keyboarding, with computer programs such as advanced MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel) and Sage 50 (Simply Accounting) and ability to learn and adapt to new software and technologies

· Effective written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines.

· Ability to keep knowledge of sensitive data confidential.

· Ability to stay focused and calm under pressure

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

The position also requires a clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the RNC or RCMP. Successful candidates must submit proof of Covid vaccination.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $46,205.00-$59,098.00 per year
