Tri-global Solutions Group Inc. is seeking one (1) Data Solutions Analyst to join our talent Service Delivery team at Government of Alberta (GoA) to support the Digital Regulatory Assurance System (DRAS) Program.
The successful contractor(s) have an anticipated May 1, 2023 start date for an initial 11-month contract (ending March 31, 2024) with 6-month extension available (total contract term up to 17-months).
NOTES ON LOCATION: Resource(s) will work on-site full-time. Work must be done from office locations within Alberta. Client has identified office location as, 9945 - 108 Street, Edmonton, Alberta.
NOTES ON COMPUTER EQUIPMENT: Resource will require own equipment. Resource will be provided access to a virtual desktop for the duration of the contract.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Data Solutions Analyst required to support the Ministry needs with Data Governance, Strategy and Solutions for the new DRAS program they are implementing. The Ministry is currently doing a significant transformation of their business under the program DRAS (Digital Regulatory Assurance System) which is one of many programs. A large part of DRAS program is the impact to the data. The data planning between the existing legacy applications and how it will be transitioned to the new program is critical success factor for the program, thus the requirement for this position. If not improved will impact and delay in creating strategic data solutions and quality data governance for the program.
ADDITIONAL DELIVERY DETAILS
- Provides leadership, advice and direction on data and information governance and stewardship best practices to members of executive, the governance council, stewards from lines of business, and program partners.
- Facilitate an improved understanding and leverage of information and data assets.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
- Can span activities related to information management and technology strategic planning, project definition, program communication, providing leadership to project teams, facilitating strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, conducting business process reengineering activities and facilitating executive discussions on strategic matters.
- Works with Senior and Executive Management in the Ministry to:
- Identify and advance information management and technology strategies that advance and/or support our core business in strategic areas.
- Facilitate collaboration of public sector, private industry, and other partners to identify and advance opportunities to improve existing services and/or identify, develop and advance opportunities for new and innovative information management and technology related services.
- Facilitate and manage the challenges associated with innovation and change.
MANDATORY SKILLS
- The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following: (10+ years)
- University graduation in Computer Science or Information Systems or a related discipline and 4-yr related experience;
OR
- 2-yr diploma in Computer Science or Information Systems or a related discipline and 6-yr related experience;
OR
- 10-yr related experience
- Extensive experience in the Data Governance discipline (5+ years)
- Experience with either Information Governance or records management and information management (5+ years)
- Experience in project management (5+ years)
- Experience leading and providing consultation and support to clients at all levels of an organization (5+ years)
- Experience working with Land information (5+ years)
- Experience working with Oil and Gas information (5+ years)
- Experience in the development and implementation of data and spatial data governance standards, processes, and mechanisms to enable the ministry to manage information through its entire lifecycle (5+ years)
- Experience in the analysis, development, and integration of complex IT systems with a specific focus on the management of data and spatial data from multiple sources (including sensors and mobile solutions), web services, and legacy IT solutions (5+ years)
- Proposed resource must have own computer equipment and be comfortable using it for completion of work required by this contract.
- Proposed resource must work from within Canada, due to network and data security policies. Standard Hours of work are 08:15 - 16:30 Alberta time

- DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP)
- Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)

- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- TOGAF 9 Professional Certification
- Open Group Certified Architect (Open CA)
- Other certifications directly applicable to this position
- Experience with data marts, data warehousing, BI tools, etc. (3+ years)
- Experience with relational databases and knowledge of SQL (3+ years)
- Experience with data modelling concepts and tools (5+ years)
- Experience with data management tools (e.g. data governance tools, BI, analytics, big data, data visualization, etc.) (5+ years)
