We are seeking a Crane Operator to join our Generation Operations & Maintenance Division in Gillam, Manitoba. You will
perform crane operator duties, including planning lifts, operating cranes and directing assisting rigging and blocking. You will also be
required to operate and haul all types of equipment, apparatus and load/unload material.

Responsibilities:
- Operation and Maintenance of Mobile Cranes up to 90 ton.
- Perform rigging work and direct others in same.
- Provide guidance and direction to a crew engaged in similar work.
- Maintain and operate the following equipment:
- Aerial bucket truck
- Grader with or without wing
- Soft track vehicles over 11 343 kg (25 000 lbs) GVW rating
- Skidstear and attachments
- Forklift
- Truck mounted telescopic booms with buckets
- Wheel loader with attachments
- Highway Tractor and associated trailers
- Genie work platforms
- Passenger Bus
- Other equipment as required
- Perform minor repairs and lubrication on assigned machines and implements.
- Operate/maintain simple power tools, hand tools and equipment.
- Required to direct and train junior personnel.
- Operate and maintain assigned vehicles in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act regulations and Manitoba Hydro
- As required, will assist in the maintenance duties of Gillam Services.
- Assist with the handling of apparatus, poles, wire, materials, and related tools for District Operating groups as required.
- May be required to work from scaffolds, bucket trucks, in confined areas and outdoors in all climatic conditions.
- May be required to work at other locations other than within the Generation North Departments.
- May be required to work outside of assigned service area.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Crane Operator with a Red Seal.
- Possess a valid Province of Manitoba Class I (with Air) Driver's Licence.
- Previous experience working in proximity to energized apparatus and conductors.
- Must be certified or willing to obtain a Manitoba Hydro Equipment Operator's Permit for all equipment required for the position
- Must be physically capable of performing all the duties of the position.
- Possess an approved set of personal hand tools.
- Must have the necessary experience to operate equipment assigned to the classification.
- Capable of following written and oral instructions.
- Capable of working with minimum supervision.
- Have the ability to write reports and make calculations relative to the work being performed.
- Thorough knowledge in the practices of handling, securing and hauling of heavy equipment.
- Possess thorough knowledge of the equipment in its use and service requirements.
- Familiar with and adhere to the Manitoba Hydro Corporate Safety and Occupational Health Rules.
- Ability to work harmoniously and co-operate with fellow employees.

Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $29.05-$39.45 Hourly,
$55,665.74-$75.591.36 Annually.
