The Counter Sales Representative is an integral function in the branch’s ability to provide excellent customer service to all of our clients and effectively maintain the preparedness of the branch for each year’s annual inventory.

This position handles Plumbing/Heating/Electrical Counter Sales, Order Picking, and Quotations for customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Offering exceptional customer service at our counter and over the phone
• Responding to inquiries and processing incoming calls and orders
• Entering orders into the system
• Sourcing materials for customers when currently not in stock
• Providing product information, pricing quotations, and follow-up on quotes
• Developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
• Counter Sales and handling returns as required
• Picking Priority orders
• Closing orders and stocking bins
• Keeping counter and sales area clean
• Merchandising and showcasing product

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Customer service experience
• Time management & multitasking skills to serve several customers at the same time
• Basic computer skills (Word, Email, etc.)
• Self-motivated; able to function effectively both independently and as a member of a team
• Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced work environment

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum grade 12 education required
• Knowledge of the plumbing and heating industry or a background in plumbing products would be considered an asset

Final candidates will be required to undergo an assessment and security screening, including a criminal record check. Employment is subject to screening completion that is satisfactory to Bartle& Gibson.
